Hanna-Barbera founders William Hanna and Joseph Barbera pose with several of the Emmy awards the Hanna-Barbera studio has won.

[font=Trebuchet MS]Dec. 18 (Bloomberg) -- Joseph Barbera, co-founder of Hanna- Barbera Studios and creator of Oscar-winning characters Tom and Jerry as well as Huckleberry Hound and the Flintstone family, died today of natural causes at home. He was 95.

It was very sad when I was channel surfing the other day, and saw a Tribute to Joseph Barbera airing on a news channel. I cudn't see much of it, but it did sound bad and the next day I read it was true.. Joseph was no more..

Several Hanna-Barbera cartoon characters along with caricatures of William Hanna and Joseph Barbera themselves.

He was sort of a backbone to Cartoon Network, with the most number of toons aired by Hanna-Barbera productions, including my favorites Flintstones, Jetsons, Smurfs, and lots of others I can't think of at the moment. They even took over my most fav. show Captain Planet, originally by Turner DiC Entertainment, and new renamed series by Hanna-Barbera.

As I've grown up watching Cartoon Network, I'll always remember the duo and their awesome creations.
